How long should a CHKDSK/R on a 120 GB PATA drive take?

Has been running since 13:30 today.

Currently on Part 5 of 5 verifying free space

There are many factors that go into determining your query.
I would recommend letting the chkdsk run until it finished by itself.
I would not recommend breaking into the process. You might not like the results.

Oh I planned on that. Just wondering why it may be taking longer than usual.
Will be posting results. Also going to run the manufactures tools to check the HDD.

There were both ran on the boot.
CHKDSK F (2 minute run) was ran first then the CHKDSK R (4 hours to run).
Running the Seagate Tools to see if that shows anything.

No none of the above just seem to be freezing when ever I do some thing. It is my crash burn replicate issue system. Have not done any of that with it since I last formatted and reinstalled the OS and Drivers and updates few months ago.

Now it just seems to be trying to die on me. Yes I know I need to update grade. Can not do that for a while.

Could be the controller guess I need to check the logs.

Is there anything in particular you are doing when it freezes? Or is it more random?

If I read the logs right you are working off a DELL. DELL PSUs are underrated in my opinion. Power problems can cause freezing. Just a suggestion.
You are correct LC and the inside is clean.

I thinks its getting like me old and run downnnnnnn.

Easy way to test for an underpowered PSU is to remove components not vital to the running of the PC. Look and see what you can remove from power like a second hard drive, CD/DVD drive, add in sound card, ect. If removing one or more components alleviates the problem, add them back until the problem returns. It is also possible that one of the removed components has a problem. I had a problem similar to yours. I solved it by removing a bad USB add on card.

It is an XP machine sooo ..

Now that doesn't mean we can leave this problem unsolved ;)..

Download and install HWMonitor here - http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Take a screenshot of the information and attach it in your next post :).

There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

Happens when I select DL.

Ok I talked nicly to the site and was able to DL. Ok I used another site.
Installed self explanarty.
Load is after web browsing 2-4 browser open and some having 2-6 tabs open.
Defrag and disk clean up.
Now trying what LC suggested on checking different USB ports.
